BTIT: Identity management and protection

Identity management describes how BTIT protects user accounts, authentication methods and identity-related data.

Good practice

  • Use named accounts rather than shared accounts wherever possible.
  • Use multi-factor authentication for important systems.
  • Remove or disable access when people leave or change roles.
  • Report suspected account compromise promptly.

What to include in a request

For identity-related support, include the affected account, system name, error messages, time of the issue and whether access is blocked or only partially affected.
