How to reboot your VPS

    You can reboot your VPS from the operating system or from the client portal.

    Preferred method

    sudo reboot

    This lets the operating system close services cleanly.

    Portal reboot

    Use the client portal reboot option if the server is not responding or you cannot access SSH.

    Before rebooting

    • Save any work.
    • Check whether package updates are running.
    • Warn users if the server hosts a live website or application.
